Conformity of concrete bricks

Concrete bricks are in the group of building materials, belonging to one of the six groups of building materials products issued by the Ministry of Construction, Circular 19/2019/TT-BXD, national standards on products and goods of construction materials No. QCVN 16:2019/BXD need to be in compliance with regulations, this circular was issued on 31/12/2019.

1. Why must concrete bricks conform?:

Concrete bricks are unburnt bricks, often used to build houses, fences, roads, bridges, culverts, etc. The raw material for the production of this type of brick is a mixture of sand, stone, cement, etc. Sticking thanks to pressure and vibration to increase the hardness of bricks, not using heat to fire like ordinary bricks.

Concrete bricks (unburnt bricks) are indispensable materials in construction works and they are used to build houses, fences, roads, bridges, culverts,… Potential risks in labor and life safety should conform to this product to ensure quality before being circulated on the market.

Moreover, according to Circular 13/2017/TT-BXD dated December 8, 2017 regulating the use of unburnt building materials in construction works effective from February 1, 2018. Accordingly, construction works invested with state budget capital, off-budget state capital, loans from enterprises with state capital greater than 30% must use unburnt construction materials in total. building materials in the following proportions:

1. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City: 100% use;
2. Northern Midland Delta provinces; the provinces in the Southeast region: In urban areas of grade III or higher, use at least 90%, in the remaining areas, use at least 70%;
3. The remaining provinces: In urban centers of grade III and above, at least 70% must be used, in the remaining areas, at least 50% must be used.
4. Construction works of 9 floors or more must use at least 80% unburnt building materials in total construction materials.
5. Works with special requirements that do not use unburnt construction materials must be considered and approved by competent state management agencies.
6. The State encourages the use of unburnt building materials in construction works regardless of capital source and number of floors.

Unburnt bricks are gradually encouraged and increasingly put into construction in many works to ensure the living environment. Concrete bricks are more and more widely used, so unburnt bricks are conformable to ensure quality and safety in construction work.

2. Forms of conformity with concrete bricks:

Conformity certification of concrete bricks is an activity to evaluate the production system, take samples for testing and compare with the criteria of H6 quality assurance system and technical criteria specified in the Regulation QCVN 16:2019 /BXD to conclude that the concrete brick product meets the QCVN 16:2019/BXD Standard or does not.

There are 3 technical criteria in the regulation of concrete bricks, namely compressive strength and water permeability, the test method is TCVN 6477:2016, and the moisture absorption criterion is TCVN 6355-4:2009. Sample specification is to take any 10 tablets from each lot.

In the regulation QCVN 16:2014/BXD, the certification of conformity for Concrete Brick Product Group is as follows:

• Certification method: Organizations and individuals manufacturing and importing construction materials and products may choose Evaluation Method 1, 5 or Evaluation Method 7 according to Circular 28/2012/TT- BKHCN dated 12/12/2012 of the Ministry of Science and Technology stipulating on announcement of standard conformity, announcement of regulation conformity and methods of assessing conformity with standards and technical regulations.
• Enterprises producing domestically and applying certification according to Method 5 must apply a Quality Management System that meets ISO 9001:2008.

3. IFIC
