CAUSES AND BENEFIT OF THE IMPORT AND EXPORT WOOD FURNITURE FUMIGATION ?
Fumigation forest products helps prevent the spread of bacteria and insects from your home country to yours. Do not cause unsanitary, ensure the quality of safe transportation to foreign countries without any damage to the product. Forest fumigation is now considered the most important service in the logistics industry.
Not only interior goods imported and exported from Vietnam to other countries are subject to a lot of customs regulations at the port of destination so that importers (buyers of Vietnamese goods) can carry out procedures for customs clearance. row. One of those regulations is the sterilization of goods exported from Vietnam that applies to a number of specific items.

Fumigation errors to export wooden furniture (forest goods) not up to standard leading to returns:
- Step 1: Fumigation with Methyl bromide (MB) in the warehouse by covering with tarpaulin or in the sterilization room, in the container is not satisfactory due to reasons such as insufficient incubation time, not airtight due to inadequate storage floor flat, unclean or vapor-permeable warehouse floor or sterilization room, sterilization container is not airtight.
- Step 2: Heat treatment (HT) method has not met the prescribed standard.
- Step 3: After the processing is not strictly controlled, it is mixed with the untreated number, leading to the case of using untreated WPM to close the pallet or as a dummy.
- Step 4: Pallets have been processed but left in storage for a long time, waiting for export, near sources of infection, so they are re-infected with insects and mold.
- Step 5: Unsuitable packing method – Use vapor barrier materials to pack goods and include wooden lining materials.
Notes on fumigation for export of wooden furniture (forestry goods):
- The area for disinfection and palletizing needs to be clean, dry, with a concrete or hot asphalt concrete floor that is impervious to steam, and the surface is smooth and flat. Empty rooms or containers used as sterilization chambers must be airtight.
- In case of sterilization of IFIC and goods in the container before export: Take preventive measures as in item 1, the container should not be used if there are signs of not being airtight (bottom floor, door).
- Ensure the drug incubation time is at least 24 hours as prescribed. The incubation time is calculated from the time when the drug is finished pumping to the time of ventilation for sterilization in the warehouse or to the closing time of the container at the port of liquidation (this is the time when the ventilation holes are removed for ventilation).
- Do not enclose the pallet or backing material with vapor-proof materials such as PE film, PVC, painted carton and sealed with tape.
- Areas for sterilization, packing and storage of post-sterilization materials should be isolated from other areas. Do not mix sterilized material with unsterilized portion to minimize the risk of reinfection.
- IFIC has been processed under ISPM 15 so export is quick to use.
